ANGULAR HOUSES
The angular houses are the First, the Fourth, the Seventh, and the Tenth house. These houses belong to cardinal signs, i.e., Aries, Cancer, Libra, and Capricorn. Planets in these houses are dignified and the most active.
The angular houses represent the framework of the astrological chart because they are positioned by both axes - the Ascendant (the cusp of the First house) and the Descendant (the cusp of the Seventh house) are positioned by the horizontal axis, while the Nadir (the cusp of the Fourth house) and the Midheaven (the cusp of the Tenth house) are positioned by the vertical axis. The angular houses have the energy of cardinal signs, so their activity is connected to the individual's activity in the world, as well as them causing and perpetuating the activity in their surroundings. It is also associated with the beginnings of matters and conditions.
SUCCEDENT HOUSES
The succedent houses are the Second, the Fifth, the Eighth, and the Eleventh house. These houses belong to fixed signs, i.e., Taurus, Leo, Scorpio, and Aquarius. Planets in these houses are somewhat weaker but at the same time the most consistent.
The succedent houses follow the angular houses. In accordance with the energy of the fixed signs, the activity of these houses is connected to stability and unchangeability of the individual, as well as maintaining the surrounding conditions and circumstances.
CADENT HOUSES
The cadent houses are the Third, the Sixth, the Ninth, and the Twelfth house. This group of houses carries the energy of the mutable signs, i.e., Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius, and Pisces. Planets in these houses are debilitated and the most changeable.
The cadent houses are positioned between succedent and angular houses. These houses have the energy of mutable signs, so their activity is connected to instability and to the individual's need to adapt to their surroundings, as well the ends of matters and conditions.
