Minor aspects

Minor or secondary aspects have a weaker effect than major aspects. Sometimes they are used in addition to major aspects with the purpose of garnering more information. Some astrologers use minor aspects, while others choose not to.

Minor aspects can be easy (harmonious) or hard (disharmonious).

Easy minor aspects are a quintile and a biquintile. They are usually not marked in the chart.

Hard minor aspects are a semi-sextile, a semi-square, a sesquiquadrate (or a sesquisquare), and a quincunx (or an inconjunction). In most charts, only the sesquiquadrate and the quincunx are marked. The sesquiquadrate is represented by a dotted line, while a qunicunx is represented by a green (and sometimes dotted) line.

The orb allowance for all minor aspects is 2°.
