After we have analyzed the individual's past life challenges, I think it is important to connect all the information we uncovered with their current life. In this last part of the karmic analysis series, I would like to present a way to contextualize the past life and connect it with the individual's current life. For this reason, we are going to focus on the primary triad in this part of the article because it represents the most essential building blocks of the individual's current personality.
THE MOON
The Moon represents the individual's emotional nature and their comfort zone. It shows what the individual identifies as familiar or safe. Because of this, I think that the Moon is actually closely connected to the past life situations the individual lived through. The position of the Moon by sign and house (and any potential conjunctions to the Moon by other planets) can give us an insight into what makes the individual feel safe or what they perceive as safe. The things that feel safe are the things that feel familiar or normal. Since people are born with their Moon placement, this feeling of safety is actually an extension of the individual's past life experience. This inevitably means that the same things must have represented safety to them in their past life. For this reason, I see the Moon as an important clue to the past life story.
Once we have interpreted the Moon's position in the context of the past life circumstances, we can help the individual understand their Moon placement and how it expresses itself in their present life. By contextualizing the Moon in this way, we can offer the individual deep insights into their own emotional needs and bring them a sense of comfort, especially if their Lunar needs are clashing with what is considered "normal" or "acceptable" by others. Emotional needs always come with a valid explanation.
THE SUN
The Sun represents the individual's identity in this life. It shows us how the individual is perceived by others as a person. What is their role in the world? Who are they known as? The Sun shows us who the individual is meant to become and what kind of energy they are meant to embody in this life. Once we have thoroughly analyzed the past life circumstances, we can contextualize the Sun placement. Why is it important for the individual to embody this particular energy in this life? How does this placement help them continue the personal work they have done in their past life? The Sun is vital because it represents the individual's sense of identity, in other words, what makes them feel true to themselves. As astrologers, it is important that we honor this part of the individual's personality and encourage them to express it in a positive way.
THE ASCENDANT
After we have contextualized the Sun and the calling it represents, it's important to give the individual some pointers, so they can actually realize the Sun's highest potential. This is where the Ascendant comes in; the Sun is the identity, however, the Ascendant shows the path that leads to it. How can the individual reach the goals represented by their Sun placement? What is their approach supposed to be like? The sign on the Ascendant shows us, how they can present themselves and in what way they should live their life to realize the goal of embodying their Sun placement and fulfilling their full potential.
THE ASCENDANT RULER
Finally, look to the Ascendant ruler to contextualize the Ascendant placement further. Whatever sign is on the Ascendant tells us something about the approach to life the individual is advised to take but the planet that rules the Ascendant can give us more information about where the individual can direct this planet's energy and how precisely they can get the most out of its placement. The Ascendant ruler represents the individual's actual everyday approach. The planet in question is also referred to as the chart ruler, which is a good description of its function in the individual's life. This planet is the main tool they have been given to navigate the world. If they use it and embody it every day, they can eventually find a way to realize the potential of their Sun placement.
