Karmic astrology is a special area of astrology that is devoted to exploring the karmic patterns in the individual's birth chart. These patterns represent the personal behavioral patterns and complexes, which are a direct consequence of the individual's past lives.
This discipline of astrology is based on the idea of reincarnation of the soul and the idea that we incarnate on Earth to grow spiritually. In order to do that, we must first understand where we are coming from and what we must leave behind. This is the reason why in every incarnation we are initially thrown into circumstances which, to a certain extent, repeat the patterns from some previous life and, in this way, provoke a similar emotional response from the individual. The purpose of this is for the individual to recognize them on some level as stale and outlived, precisely so that they will feel the need to leave them behind and move on.
To really understand the karmic story, we must see how the individual's birth chart is built. Our birth chart is given to us for a reason; we choose to be born at the moment when the positions of the celestial bodies are such that they accurately reflect our past emotional experiences, while at same time offering us the best conditions to resolve our karmic patterns. In other words, to understand our karmic story, we must understand the circumstances of our current life.
The exploration of the karmic patterns is complex and it includes the interpretation of many factors in the birth chart; we usually start with the Nodal axis. The position of the South node gives us a general idea about the individual's past life circumstances. The aspects of other planets to the South node can reveal to us more information and they can help us define the reasons for these circumstances. With their help, we can create a story that fits with the given information and explains the emotional memory that the individual carries within themselves.
To resolve their emotional complexes, the individual must focus on the lessons symbolized by the position of the North node, which represents the way to escape from the given emotional state or a way to get over the painful experiences and heal our emotional wounds. At the same time, it is important that we try to take some positive lessons from the experience represented by the South node. We can use these experiences to conquer everything that is promised to us by the position of our North node. We must find a way to strike a healthy balance between the life areas represented by the Nodal axis.
